So, as per usual with these sorts of nights, there had been many, many drinks. Followed by ridiculous ideas. And then more drinks. And penguins dressed in cat tutus. And then more drinks.

Which totally explained why there were five teenaged boys piled in a bed in a hotel room in Iqaluit, now the proud co-owners of a penguin sanctuary.

"Mrrrph," Bobby mumbled, burying his face in the shoulder of... whoever that was next to him. At least he didn't drool in his sleep?

"Ugh," he said, trying to open his eyes and instantly regretting that choice. "Where are we?"

"Someplace cold," Bobby announced helpfully, not actually at the 'opening his eyes' stage yet himself. Yes, he could tell that even though they were indoors. DON'T QUESTION IT.

From a Mountie, no less. It was probably better not to ask why.

"Stop talking," whined the money bags behind the penguin sanctuary purchase as he tried to bury his head under Ben's legs. Where he would be safe from this horrible hang over. Really.

Hey! Bobby had contributed... a $20 bill to that fund. "No," he said, nudging at Tony with a cold, cold bare foot. "If I have to be awake, so do you."

"Dun wanna," Ben complained.

"Why are you all so loud?" Billy whined, from where he was buried under something. Or someone. He didn't really have the energy to tell at this point.

"Make 'em stop," mumbled the someone on top of him. While snuggling closer.

Funny how it was always them two.

Ben got a peek out the window from his spot on the bed. "...did we decorate the entire parking lot with Doritos?"

"'Cause you said you didn't know what they were," Topher explained. "Shhhhhhh."

"'s all Bobby's fault," Billy said, curling closer to Topher like he could block the noise. He was just going to blame everything on Bobby and leave it at that.

"Hey!" Bobby protested. "I seem to remember someone else thinking it was an EXCELLENT idea." several someones, as poon of fact.

"Don't be mean to Billy," Topher mumbled. Possibly while snuggling still closer.

Oh yeah. Real intimidating, this guy.

"The penguins seemed like a good idea," Billy had to admit though.

"We did," Bobby corrected. BECAUSE THAT TWENTY TOTALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE, OKAY.

"I think I tossed in a Tim Horton's gift card for that," Ben mumbled.

"I contributed a shoe!" Topher added helpfully.

Sadly, not his shoe.

Bobby frowned, fumbling in the nightstand for the hotel information booklet.

"Ek- Ik- uh, Nunavoot?" he offered helpfully, fumbling over that pronunciation. "...The Frobisher Inn," he added with a shrug. There. That was good enough, right?

There was a pause as something horrible occurred to Tony. "We better not have stolen the penguins."

"Bobby stole my penguin," Topher mumbled into Billy's shoulder.

Not what he meant, Topher.

"Not my fault he liked me better," Bobby retorted, grabbing a pillow and tossing it at Topher's head.

"Hey!" Billy protested when the pillow hit him too. "It's okay, I think I shared my penguin with you."

"It was a nice penguin," Topher agreed, almost wistfully. "Did we name it Antonio?"

Topher.

Billy's muffled giggling probably answered that question. God, boys.

"And we put Ender in a tutu, right?" Ben checked.

Beat.

"Penguin, not guy."

"If that penguin gets dressed up like Iron Man, I'm never talking to any of you again," Tony chimed in.

"I think it looked good in the goatee we drew on," Topher contributed helpfully.

Someone just really liked the goatee, yeah.

"...Iron Penguin," Bobby said, picturing that. "Man, I wish I'd thought of that," he added mournfully.
