Room 516 [Saturday Morning]

The Bobby Drake who normally woke up in a dorm room in Fandom on your average Saturday morning might have done so slowly, lazily, quite possibly even reluctantly.
However, this was not your average Saturday morning, and this was most definitely not the Bobby Drake who normally called Fandom home. As such, the transition from asleep to awake consisted of his eyes snapping open and the realization that these were entirely unfamiliar surroundings. Which then resulted in a startled yell and a leap out of the bed, backing himself into a corner of the room.
What in the hell was going on?

What in the hell was going on?
Sookie |
And of course, Sookie, who usually woke up wrapped up in the arms of the Bobby Drake who normally woke up in this room. And while her mind was suddenly buzzing with unfamiliar nerves, she still wasn't awake enough to process it. "Bobby?" |
Bobby (of the AU variety) |
Bobby didn't respond right away to the unfamiliar voice. Foremost on his mind was the fact that for the first time in years, he didn't feel cold. One hand crept up to his neck, fingers tracing over the spot where the power inhibiting collar all of the Alamo's prisoners wore usually rested. No collar. Well then. "You know my name." |
Sookie |
"Of course I do," she said softly, watching him as she reached out, brushing her mind against his for signs of unfamiliarity. "Are you okay?" |
Bobby |
What she'd find in his thoughts would probably give away pretty quickly that this wasn't the Bobby she knew. Perhaps the most obvious clue was the fact that he didn't have any reaction at all to the telepathic contact. It just wasn't something Bobby- this Bobby- had experience with. "That depends on who the hell you are and what you're gonna do with me," he said, temperature in the room dropping rapidly as he spoke. |
Sookie |
And yeah, that was the big tip-off she needed -- not only did he lack a reaction entirely, but his thoughts were...different. Wrong. Not to mention his verbal responses. "Okay, hang on a second," she said, fully awake now and holding up her hands in a placating gesture. "Hang on. I'm a friend. I know you're in an unfamilar place. But I'm not going to hurt you. My name's Sookie." |
Bobby |
It had been a while since anyone had claimed to be his friend. "Nice to meet you," he replied, although he sounded as if the jury were still out on that. |
Sookie |
"And I'm like you," she added, her voice lilting a little in hope. "And I won't hurt you. No one here would. And I already know you, even if you don't know me." |
Bobby |
"Like me," Bobby repeated. "You mean, you're a..." he trailed off. "Is that why you broke me out?" he asked. |
Sookie |
"I didn't break you out of anywhere," she said gently, shaking her head. "And I'm...sort of like a mutant. Not the same, but close enough to spit. Just as likely to be persecuted, from what I can tell." |
Bobby |
"So if you didn't break me out, how'd I get here?" Bobby asked, still just as confused as he'd been when he'd first woken up. |
Sookie |
"It's a long story?" she said carefully. "You're in a place called Fandom. No one's going to hurt you here, okay?" |
Bobby |
A disbelieving retort was on the tip of his tongue, but then one hand reached up to his neck again and- yeah, the collar was still gone. That was a point in her favor, he had to admit. "You promise?" |

Date: 2011-06-04 06:56 pm (UTC)"Other you is kinda one of my best friends," she explained. "I was visiting this weekend, so... couldn't not hang out with him."
Which made this kind of a bummer, and she didn't mean to let that show in her tone, but it wasn't like she thought about subtleties like that...
