The past 24 hours had passed for Bobby in a blur. They'd held Xavier's funeral as soon as possible, thinking to prevent the possibility of one of their enemies learning about it and choosing to attack.
Which, of course, is exactly what Magneto had done. With Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch at his side and hadn't that been all sorts of awkward. But that had ended rather definitively with Magneto sinking into the sea.
Then there had been the lawyer from Nelson & Murdock reading the Professor's will, and the revelation about Jean's telepathy (Bobby had feigned the surprise that the other guys had shown at that one)... and finally, Agent Duncan of the FBI, telling them they needed to disband the x-Men and split themselves up across the country.
Which is what led to Bobby's current situation, sitting on the bed in Hank's room and watching his friend pack.
"I'm coming with you," he announced.
"No you're not," Hank retorted, in a way that totally included a silent 'you idiot'.
"But-"
"No buts, Bobby. For one, you're not switching schools in the middle of the year, especially this close to the end of the semester. It's disruptive to your learning process. Secondly, you have friends back in Fandom. I've seen how much you talk about them, if you came with me you'd miss them terribly, not to mention they would miss you. Thirdly, I may be unusually responsible for my age, but do you really think Social Services is going to look kindly on me being responsible for a fifteen year old?"
"'M practically sixteen," Bobby muttered, scowling. But Hank had a point. Several points. Whatever. "But San Francisco," he whined. "That's in California."
"I am aware of my US Geography, Robert," Hank commented dryly. Looking over and seeing Bobby's expression, he relented somewhat. "Tell you what. You can come with me and help me get set up for a few days before you head back to school, okay?" he offered. At least with a private jet under their control they didn't have to worry about plane tickets.
"All right," Bobby said, sounding slightly mollified. "Yeah, I guess that'll do."
[ooc: ...Clearly I'm insane in trying to cram this much comic storyline into one trip home. OH WELL. NFB for distance, obvs, but OOC welcome.]
